About Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis

On average, humans experience around 50,000 thoughts a day of varying degrees of helpfulness. Negative habits and thought processes can be the result of harmful and unpleasant experiences during childhood as the brain interprets these thoughts as normal and ‘cements’ them into place as an adult.

Hypnotherapy uses “guided relaxation, intense concentration, and focused attention” to achieve a heightened trance-like state. During this period of Alpha waves, the hypnotherapist will repeat guided suggestions and words to replace or override those deeply held thoughts and feelings that have been holding you back or creating bad habits.

Hypnotherapists focus on guided imagery and future pacing to help their clients see themselves as having already achieved their outcome and ease the subconscious into the idea that it’s already happened.

Hypnotherapy has been used by leading athletes including Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods to help them eliminate negative thoughts and rise to the top of their game.

Hypnotherapy can be a useful part of a treatment plan for mental health issues. As hypnotherapy helps rewire neural pathways, it can shift your attention away from unfocused, depressive, or anxiety-ridden thoughts towards better, more positive ones

Anxiety is a negative form of self-hypnosis, so combating it with hypnotherapy helps the brain to rewire itself using positive self-hypnosis instead.

Clients often comment that they leave a hypnotherapy session feeling less stressed and have confronted and overcome challenges with a different mind-set then they had before.

“Hypnosis is the epitome of mind-body medicine. It can enable the mind to tell the body how to react and modify the message.”
